Maddy now meets his father who’s very withdrawn after his wife passed on.
In the flat, Maddy sees a 20-rupee note with a phone number written on it and remembers how he met Payal in college, falling in love with her at first sight and chasing the bohemian chic chick until she gives him her number and decides to get serious with him and not do ‘time-pass’. He insists he’s not but his sister insists he pack up from his flat and come to their father’s house. Payal walked out of his life six weeks ago and his sister Koel and friend Vinay are convinced Maddy is suicidal.
But Maddy wakes up from his memories in hospital after having drunk Phenyl by mistake. The movie starts with a flashback of Maddy (Imran) and Payal (Kangana) making a home video with a supposed mock-shaadi.
